I mentioned in part 2 of Marijuana Startups how I love startup incubators. For those who don’t know what business incubators are, the wikipedia definition is, “A business incubator in business speak is a company that helps new and startup companies to develop by providing services such as management training or office space. Business incubators differ from research and technology parks in their dedication to startup and early-stage companies.”
“Green Labs is more than just an office space. We provide the opportunity, networking, and education to accelerate your business.”
Green Labs Denver is the second incubator in Colorado I’ve found this month. Their facilities consists of a 35 desk incubator and co-working space for marijuana startups.
“Co-working is redefining the way startups begin and grow. At Green Labs, we cater to the new and rapidly expanding cannabis industry precipitated by legalization of recreational marijuana in Colorado. Our Members work side-by-side with other entrepreneurs, attract venture capital and private funding through our investment arm, The Denver Angels, and learn best practices in digital marking, programming and legal strategy.”
Green Labs offers a multitude of services for startups:
Desk Space – Dedicated Desks, Wifi, and Coffee.
Community – Likeminded Cannabis Companies, Industry Events, and parties.
Investment – Series A Seed Funding, Access to Denver Angels, and Investment Strategy.
Legal Services – Application and Licensing, Advice and crisis aversion, and New market scaling.
Business Strategy – Sales Training, Scaling Plan, Fundraising
Technology – Assistance in various programming languages such as HTML, PHP, Ruby, Java, etc.
The investment arm of Green Labs makes investments of $30,000 – $250,000 in marijuana startups that show potential. In addition to providing business services and desk space, the Green Lab teams coach and mentor startups on how to pitch to investors, revenue models, and developing a sales strategy.
Green Lab also host community events throughout the month such as “Bend & Blaze: A Higher Yoga Experience” (pun intended) and Marijuana Business Association (MBJA) Meetups. Below is a video of their last MBJA Meetup.
