Day 4 of 30 Days of Marijuana Startups and this company is one I’ve been searching for while. “Weave is a product search engine that helps customers find cannabis products easier, safe, and faster Weave allows customers to view real-time menus to place orders online for in store pickup.”
Furthermore, Weave is a platform for dispensaries that focuses on product information, trends, and inventory movement. Essentially, Weave provides insight on the data surrounding dispensaries.
I like this company for the mere fact that it focuses on data. I’m not sure If I can call it “Big Data”, however, it does get close to the term. I’m a huge believer in Big Data. To give you a fundamental understanding of what Big Data is, check out the definition from Orielly’s.
“Big data is data that exceeds the processing capacity of conventional database systems. The data is too big, moves too fast, or doesn’t fit the strictures of your database architectures. To gain value from this data, you must choose an alternative way to process it.”
To put it even more into perspective, big data help corporations such as Apple develop products that consumers will love and buy, i.e. the iPhone and Apple Watch.
Weave collects inventory data through a cloud-based Point of Sale (POS) system in real-time and allows dispensaries to track sales and allow customers to brows inventories.
Weave is based in Boulder, CO and has only four employees (CEO Christian Nitu, a VP of Design, CTO, and a VP of Engineering). The team developed Weave to assist everyone with finding cannabis information quickly and reliably.
