Day 16 of 30 of Marijuana Startups. Today’s startup hails all the way from Brazil and is the second international community I’ve written about. “Who is Happy is a geolocation social network created for cannabis consumers to share their happiness and locate useful services.” Basically, what that means is you can anonymously share your location to tell the world how “happy” (or high) you are!!
“Who is Happy concept and functionality are simple, users consuming cannabis simply tap a button to checkin with their happiness, which will be indicated by a green haze within a 1 kilometer radius on a map”
Which country has the most cannabis consumers?
Users can also see which country gets consume the most cannabis in the world. I decided to create an account to see the results of this feature and currently the top five “happiest” countries are:
1. Brazil
2. US
3. Mexico
4. Chile
5. UK.
According to the Who Is Happy App, they currently have 364,657 users; with the most in Brazil at 215,115 and the US follows with 37,542. Thats not bad for an app thats been available in the US since April.
When signing up for an account, users can choose to log in with their Facebook credentials or email. The App’s User Interface and extremely elegant. There isn’t the clutter or clunkiness that normally plagues new apps, however, I did experience some loading times but thats expected.
Who is Happy has potential
I would like to see a feature that allows you to contact smokers in your general vicinity, however, that may take away from the anonymous aspect of the app. It would also be cool to geo-tag cool locations to toke up!
I’ll try this app out and give an update on my thoughts! Stay tuned, and in the mean time follow Who is Happy on Twitter @whoishappyapp and Facebook, let them know AsaTera sent you!
